For their first concert in this years festival Thomas Hull and the Academy orchestra are joined by rising star Elizabeth Watts. After winning the 2006
Kathleen Ferrier Prize Elizabeth gained international recognition at the 2007 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, winning the Rosenblatt Recital Prize and was selected for BBC Radio 3s New Generation Artists Scheme.

She will sing three arias and Benjamin Brittens Les Illuminations, settings of poems by Arthur Rimbaud. Although often performed by a tenor this great work was originally written for soprano Sophie Wyss.
The concert closes with one of Mozarts finest and best loved symphonies.
